What is worth writing about

  • A number that looks wrong. This is the most useful message you can send. Tell me which calculator, what you entered, what it returned and what you expected. Coverage figures and stock sizes vary by region and manufacturers reformulate products, so corrections that arrive with a source get applied quickly.
  • A calculator that is missing. Several tools on this site exist because someone asked for them. Tell me the job, the units it is bought in, and the part that is hard to estimate.
  • A pattern the layout engine does not handle. If you lay something that is not on the list — a Versailles pattern, a pinwheel, a running bond at a non-standard offset — describe it and it may end up supported.
  • Prices that are out of date. Reference prices are reviewed every three months. If what you paid is well off what the calculator shows, that is worth knowing.

What this is not

I cannot quote your job, recommend a contractor in your area, settle a dispute with an installer, or advise on whether something meets your local building code. Those questions need someone who can see the site, and that is your local building department or a licensed contractor.

Guest posts, link exchanges and paid placements are declined without exception, so please do not send them.
